Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer direct billing?

Yes, we are happy to direct bill your extended health benefits (EHB). Please bring your EHB card or its information with you on the day of your initial assessment. We encourage all patients to review their coverage information and restrictions prior to the first appointment. At this time we are able to bill most insurance companies plans directly. If the claim is denied, or unable to be processed, payment will be the patient’s responsibility and a receipt will be provided to submit independently.

  • Telehealth

What do I need for my appointment?

For your appointment, you will need a device with a camera and a microphone, a stable internet connection, as well as a private space that allows for you to move around as necessary (while still being on camera).

It is recommended that Google Chrome or Firefox is used for Telehealth appointments. Compatibility with Safari is coming soon – please contact the clinic for updates.

How do I pay for my appointment?

After your appointment you will receive an email with a secure link to pay for your outstanding balance with a credit card. You will then receive a receipt via email for your appointment.

Will my extended health benefits cover the cost of my appointment?

Many insurers will cover the cost of your Telehealth appointments, and the list is growing daily. To ensure your appointment is covered please contact your insurer.

How do I access my appointment?

To start your appointment you will log on to your Jane account at trenthealthinmotion.janeapp.com. Under your “Upcoming Appointments” tab you will find a “Begin” button beside your appointment.

  • Doctors referral

A doctor’s referral is not necessary to see any of our service providers, however some insurance companies will request that you have a referral in order to reimburse you for the cost of treatment. We advise clients to check their benefits plan to confirm if a referral is needed.

  • Do you accept WSIB or Motor Vehicle Accident claims?

Yes we are registered to provide direct billing to motor vehicle insurers and WSIB. Prior to the assessment we require your claim number and accident date.

For motor vehicle insurance claims we also require insurance company and adjuster contact information. If you have extended health benefits (EHB) you must also bring this information as treatment must be billed to your EHB before the auto insurance. If you have any questions about the process, please call 705-741-4758 or email us admin@trenthealthinmotion.ca.

  • Are you authorized to provide services to DVA (Department of Veteran’s Affairs) clients?

Yes, we are registered to provide physiotherapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic care for veterans. Some services may require a physician’s referral or prior authorization.

  • What should I bring to the appointment?

If you’d like to use our direct billing services please bring your EHB card, as well as a physician referral if required by your plan. Please bring or wear clothing appropriate to the body part you are having assessed (ie. shorts for a knee assessment).

  • What happens during my initial assessment?

During your initial assessment your health care provider will conduct a thorough history to identify the timeline of your injury/condition and your short and long term health/activity goals. Then the physical component of the assessment will examine your range of motion, strength, flexibility, movement patterns/coordination and balance, as necessary based on your particular issue. Based on these findings you will be provided with education on the underlying cause of your injury/condition, as well as an individualized treatment plan, and home exercises to support the treatment plan. Throughout your assessment feel free to ask any questions you have about your injury/condition or the treatment plan being suggested.
