Our Team Our team is committed to the highest standards of care. Each of our practitioners are regulated health professionals and experts in their field.
Dr. J. Crawford Dobson, MD, FRCS (C) Dr. Dobson is a leading Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Dobson obtained his Fellowship in Sports Medicine in Ottawa and provided orthopaedic expertise to the Ottawa Roughriders, the University of Ottawa, and Carlton Varsity teams. Over the past 15 years Dr. Dobson has treated elite local, national and international athletes. He is currently affiliated with the Peterborough Petes Junior “A” hockey team.
Carrie Dunford, Physiotherapy Assistant & Reception Carrie completed the OTA/PTA program at Sir Sanford Fleming College in 2004 and joined our group of clinics at that time. Carrie shares her time between Peterborough Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic and Trent Health in Motion.
Kylie Gibson is a Registered Physiotherapist and certified athletic therapist at Trent Health in Motion. Preceded by her enthusiasm, she is a strong proponent of better health through prevention and evidence based, goal focused rehabilitation. Kylie is tremendously active in the community. She performs Backpack Safety Awareness programs for area schools, walking and running injury seminars, teaches a preventative physiotherapy program to GE nuclear workers, provides athletic therapy services for Lakefield College School and Trent University Varsity Teams and is coaching the U16 Central Region Provincial Field Hockey Team for the upcoming Ontario Summer Games. Kylie is a member of the Capital Campaign for the Ontario Speed Skating Oval and is also a past member of the Peterborough Chapter of the Osteoporosis Society of Canada. Kylie holds a Masters of Physiotherapy degree from McMaster University, an honours Bachelor of Science from York University, and a certificate in sport therapy. She is currently pursuing her diploma in Sport Physiotherapy and has has taken post-graduate courses in neural pathodynamics (neural tissue problems), therapies related to the thoracic spine, manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation (treatment for dizziness and vertigo), Soft Tissue Release Therapy and first responder (on-site sports injuries) accreditation.
Ken is pleased to be working at his Alma mater, Trent University, where he graduated with an honours degree in biochemistry and molecular biology before obtaining his Masters of Science (Physiotherapy) degree from McMaster University. Since graduating Ken has obtained his Level 1 manual therapy, attended the annual conference for amputee care and preceptor training. He is an adjunct professor at Queen’s University, introducing physiotherapy students to acute care at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Only one step away from being a level III certified rowing coach, Ken is active in the Peterborough rowing community, sitting as Past President on the Board. He works with high school, club and University athletes. He is currently coaching the Trent Varsity Heavyweight men and has served as a trainer for both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams.
Registered Massage Therapist David Kervin graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1999. He has worked in private practice for seven years and joined the team at Trent Health In Motion in September of 2005. Dave recently completed is A.R.T. certification for the Lower Extremity and has been incorporating these treatment techniques into practice for many local elite runners and cyclists. Outside of work Dave spends evenings training with the Peterborough Cycling Club and competes across the province during the cycling season.
David Murphy provides advanced foot health and orthotics services at Chemong Physiotherapy under an innovative services arrangement between the clinic and Beard & Webster Foot Care & Orthotics. David graduated from the Chiropody Program in 2003. He has a special interest in diabetic foot care. It is interesting to note that David is also a Registered Massage Therapist. He practices on a part-time basis to maintain his registration, but he also finds it extremely useful in how it accentuates his full body perspective in the practice of Chiropody. Striving always to continuously improve his practical abilities, David holds post-graduate accreditation in a number of courses including advanced biomechanics, sports medicine, and behavioural medicine. He enjoys staying fit and active in sports such as soccer and hockey.
Tamara Nailer, B.Sc.P.T. Tamara has been practicing as a Physiotherapist since 1999 when she graduated from the University of Western Ontario. Tamara joined Trent Health in Motion in 2005 and has worked with Trent's Varsity Teams since 2003. She has also volunteered at both the Ontario Winter Games and Canada Summer Games. Tamara is currently completing her Masters of Clinical Science in Manipulative Therapy at Western University. She enjoys horseback riding , beach volleyball and running. |
