Madeleine Barrieau

RMT, BA
Registered Massage Therapist

Madeleine is a Trent University graduate and former Trent U varsity rower. A background in dance and competitive sport sparked her interest in injury rehabilitation and prevention.

She later graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in Toronto, where she developed a passion for perinatal care. After pursuing continuing education in the perinatal field and gaining clinical experience at Sunnybrook Hospital’s high risk obstetrics unit, Madeleine had the opportunity to work at Toronto’s leading pre and post natal wellness centre. She has since pursued continuing education in manual therapy for pelvic health, empathetic listening and nonviolent communication, trauma awareness as well as anti-racism and allyship.

In addition to supporting her clients through their pre and post natal journeys, Madeleine has experience providing massage therapy for spinal cord injury rehabilitation patients at Toronto Rehab’s Lyndhurst Centre, post surgical patients at Toronto General Hospital’s gynecologic oncology/urology inpatient unit and residents of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Lodge.

Madeleine strives to create a space where her patients can feel heard, safe and cared for. While her treatments are clinical in nature, she aims to incorporate moments of relaxation into every session.
